The Dark Room is one of the best bars to go to if you are in Fukuoka, Japan. It’s located on Oyafuko Dori (Oyafuko Street) in Tenjin. It is known as an “Urban Rock Bar” and plays all kinds of great music! The owner of The Dark Room is Moses Yamane, who is a cool laid back kind of guy. Why is The Dark Room such a cool place, you might ask? Well depending on the night you can dance, play billards, foosball, eat food, DJ’s, watch sports, attend special parties, and a lot more. Another cool thing about The Dark Room is that they have a Roof Top “Beer Garden” type place that is open most of the year. I have spent many a night enjoying a beer or two on the roof top, that’s for sure.
Misia

Misia is a Japanese R&B artist that was born and raised in Fukuoka. Misia is all of 153cm (5 Feet), but packs a voice of a person three times here size. Her trademark is her dreadlocked hair and her powerful soulful voice. I was lucky enough to catch one of her amazing concerts at the Fukuoka Dome a couple years ago. It was my first arena concert in Japan and I was not let down! I have just about all of her CD’s and several of her concert DVD’s. If you get a chance to see her in concert, I highly recommend you get the tickets ASAP because they usually sell out fast!

Hamasaki Ayumi or Ayumi Hamasaki or just Ayu….Whatever you want to call her, you have to say she is the biggest singer songwriter to come out of Fukuoka, Japan ever!! She is the embodiment of Japanese Pop Culture, Music, and Fashion.
