Getting Around Fukuoka by Subway
Luckily for you Fukuoka’s subway is probably one of the easiest to navigate in Japan. There is the main line, called the Kuko Line, that connects Fukuoka International Air Port to Meinohama, and there are two other less traveled lines called the Nanakuma Line and the Hakozaki Line.
If I were giving advice on what to do in Fukuoka I would say you have to visit the following stations on the Subway Line.
- Hakata – Hakata Station, Hakozaki Shrine, Shopping, Restaurants
- Nakasu-Kawabata – Long shopping arcade the goes toward Canel City, the best shopping mall in the city.
- Tenjin - Shopping, stores, Restaurants, nightlife, basically all the action is in Tenjin and surrounding areas.
- Akasaka - Short walk to the Fukuoka Castle Ruins
- Ohori Koen – Ohori Part, Art Museum, Restaurants
- Tojinmachi – Closest subway stop to Momochihama, Beach, Yahoo Dome, Hard Rock Cafe, Toys R Us, Shopping, Fukuoka Tower, Restaurants, Video Game Arcade, Bowling (Sega), Batting Cage
- Nishijin – Open market and shopping area, Don Quijote, walking distance to Momochihama and Fukuoka Tower
