Seattle’s Best Coffee Tenjin Fukuoka, Japan
シアトルズベストコーヒー天神、福岡
One of the best places in Tenjin to get some free internet access, hang out with friends, and have private Language lessons is Seattle’s Best on the back side of the Tenjin Core building. It’s directly across from Starbucks, which is kind of funny. I personally haven’t ever been in that Starbucks since I am always looking for free internet, and if I recall they don’t offer free internet. So, if you are in Fukuoka and need a nice place to kill some time, stop by the Tenjin Seattle’s Best!!
Fukuoka Pictures: Yakitori
Jul 18th

Yakitori in Tenjin on Oyafuko Dori (Street). It’s the one on the right side of the street
across from Mos Burger. Great little place, but don’t forget you pay a premium to
have Yakitori in Tenjin. There are cheaper places elsewhere. We had a blast and spend about
2500 each including a couple beers.

Apple Store in Tenjin Fukuoka, Japan
May 22nd

Not sure if most of you know or not but Fukuoka is lucky enough to have it’s own Apple Store!! The Apple Store in Fukuoka is located in Tenjin, which is basically the shopping district. Tenjin is where everything happens! Great Shopping, great food, great drink, great people watching, and a lot of other stuff. I had to make a quick trip down there to buy a new power cord for my MacBook since I left the other one at one of the schools I work at, and I didn’t have time to go get it. It was one of those days when you have a lot of free time and need to get a lot done, but don’t want to have to “stop by the office” if you know what I mean.
Trains in Japan: きしゃ The Kisha
Apr 11th

I don’t know about you but I love trains and commuting on them! It just makes life a lot easier to not have to worry about finding a parking spot, paying for parking, paying attention to the rode, and of course paying for gas. Here is a diesel train that goes from Karatsu to Saga. Most trains in Japan are electricity powered and are called “Densha” (Den for electric and Sha for vehicle).
Here is a really small station in Japan. So small that there isn’t any staff at all.
No need for a caption on this picture.
A Sunday Drive in Fukuoka: Nijo Parking Area
Feb 15th

Nijo Parking Area is a cool little place outside of Fukuoka City to drive to or hang out at. It’s especially nice in the summer but even in February the Nijo Parking Area is pretty crowded. I first found this place while driving with a friend one Sunday a while back, we were tired and wanted to use the restrooms and get something to drink from a vending machine. Me being a bodyboarder the first thing I noticed was the beach and the waves! Of course they aren’t Hawaii caliber but they due just fine for any surfer away from home.
